Casa II, 1930's futuristic architecture in Uruguay
In Punta Del Este (The Miami of South America), Casa II hotel reveals a futuristic architecture from the 1930’s, inspired by the Ocean shapes…
Between the Atlantic Ocean and Rio de la Plata, Punta del Este is famous to be the “Miami of South America”, a wealthy beach station where Argentinians are spending the Christmas Holidays. Like Miami, Punta del Este’s was built in the 1930’s, and the coast then suffered from savage building in the 1980’s. The city center is now full of American fast foods and ugly concrete buildings…
However, a place is still different and charming…
Casa II has been built in the 1930’s, with a futuristic architecture. Round shapes and turquoise mosaic floors made to remind of the ocean’s waves and foam.
It has been built to be the summerhouse of a wealthy family, but the current owners don’t have no more information about it… Today, Casa II has been turned into a nice family hotel, offering original design, cheap rooms and an accessible kitchen.
